Statistical significance
Statistical significance
« Back to Glossary Index
A measure to quantify whether an outcome is only because of chance or because of a major factor. The sampling error leads to a survey which is not statistically important. This is where your sample does not precisely reflect your survey population, which can result in skewed outcomes. Could be: variation sample size. The larger the sample size, the less likely the result is, so that sample errors are reduced and importance is increased.
